What Are Three Types of Medi-Products Models?

One Solution in Three Unique Packages

Mediproducts Lineup

Medi Products’ backup power systems are packaged in three configurations: Standalone, Hardwired, and Mobile.

No matter which option you choose, all models provide backup power the same way. The batteries charge using power from your building. If the power goes out, the battery backup system will take over right away, sending stored power to your equipment.

All three options give you fast and reliable backup power for important devices in your healthcare facility.

Each model has its own special features, so one might be a better fit for your needs. This gives you lots of choices. No matter your facility's needs, the battery backup system will work smoothly and keep everything running.

Standalone Systems

Mediproducts Standalone Unit

The Standalone System comes in a smooth, off-white metal box with two removable feet to support its weight. When mounted on the wall, it only needs support from the wall but doesn't put much weight on it. These systems can be mounted anywhere but must be in the same room or next to the room where the appliances are located.

Standalone Systems charge and work by plugging into a regular wall outlet. Appliances that need backup power plug directly into the system's built-in A/C outlets. The system comes with four power outlets, but you can ask for more when you buy it.

Remember, every system is custom-made for your needs, so it might not power all four appliances at once unless planned for during the purchase.

While waiting, the system lets wall power flow to the appliances. During a power outage, the system will immediately switch to battery power and keep the appliances running. When the power comes back, the system switches back to wall power and starts recharging the batteries.

Benefits of the Standalone System include:

  • Easy installation with flexible options
  • Tall, space-saving design
  • Plugs into a regular wall outlet
  • No need to hire an electrician or contractor for installation

This system is great for medical cold storage and for facilities that may grow and don’t want a permanent setup.

Mobile Systems

Medi-Products' mobile systems come ready to use, so no assembly or installation is needed.

They work the same way as the Standalone System. You plug the system into a regular wall outlet to charge, and the appliances you want to power plug into the system’s A/C outlets.

While waiting, the wall power goes through the system to the appliances. If the power goes out, the system will switch to battery power right away. Once the power is back, it will switch back to wall power and start charging the batteries again.

The Mobile System is different from the Standalone System because it comes with:

  • Pre-assembled and ready to use
  • Stainless steel cabinets
  • A counter space on top
  • Wheels that lock in place
  • Eight A/C outlets

Mobile Systems are perfect for places like operating rooms or labs because they’re easy to move and can stay clean.

Hardwire Systems

Mediproducts Hardwire Unit

Hardwired Units have the same space-saving design as Standalone Systems, with sleek, off-white metal cabinets and two removable feet to support their weight.

Unlike Standalone or Mobile Systems, Hardwired Units connect directly to your building's electrical circuits instead of plugging into a wall outlet. Instead of plugging appliances into the unit, it sends power to the outlets that the appliances are plugged into.

Hardwired Systems work like the other systems. They charge from the building's circuits and let power flow to the outlets. If the power goes out, the system automatically takes over and keeps the appliances running.

Because it connects to your building’s wiring, a licensed electrician is needed for installation.

Hardwired Systems are great because they can:

  • Be placed in a different room from the appliances they power
  • Power multiple appliances in different rooms at the same time
  • Act as a sub-panel with built-in circuit breakers
  • Have easy wiring with dedicated knockouts

Hardwired Systems are best for new buildings, remodeling projects, or places where you plan to stay for a long time.
