Over time, as the batteries are charged and used, the chemicals in the electrolyte break down. Eventually, they can't hold a charge anymore.
Because of this natural wear, tear, and degradation process, we recommend changing the batteries in your rechargeable generator every four years.
Changing batteries at this interval ensures that your generator maintains optimal performance. Failure to change the batteries in a battery-powered generator will result in a system runtime that is less than what was bought.
Battery backup systems don’t need regular maintenance, just testing. The only ongoing cost is replacing the batteries. This usually costs about 15-20% of what you paid for the system.
You only need to replace the batteries once every four years to keep everything working well. So, if you look at it over a year, the maintenance cost is only about 4-5% of the original price of the battery generator.
Battery Backup Systems depend a lot on their batteries working well. That’s why we recommend buying replacement batteries directly from Medi-Products every time. We will match any outside vendor’s price for similar batteries.
Battery-powered generators have delicate electronic parts and are designed with care. Buying from Medi-Products is the easiest and most cost-effective way to keep your system working well and stay worry-free.
Using the wrong or unverified batteries from other vendors can cause:

Medi-Products strongly encourages recycling old batteries once they are no longer usable. While not universal, over half of the US states have laws requiring proper recycling of used batteries.
Currently, Medi-Products does not offer battery recycling services. We suggest reaching out to local waste management or recycling companies. They can handle recycling or guide you on where to take your batteries. These vendors are also familiar with local laws and regulations.
In areas where battery recycling is required, a "core fee" or refundable deposit may be required for proper disposal. This deposit helps offset the cost of new batteries.
Every system built meets every customer's needs in power and form factor. The quickest way to find the perfect system for you is to contact Medi Products directly.
