Web-Based Power and Temperature Monitoring for Critical Refrigeration

The POAS-E provides remote monitoring for medical refrigerators, laboratory freezers, and other temperature-controlled equipment through an existing Ethernet network connection.

Authorized users can review current conditions, manage alarm settings, access recorded data, and acknowledge alarms through a web-based portal. When the system detects a monitored condition, it can send complimentary email notifications to an unlimited number of designated contacts. Text-message and telephone-call notifications are also available with a subscription.

Part Number: POAS-E

Monitor Refrigeration Conditions From a Web Portal

Temperature-sensitive inventory can be compromised by more than a complete power outage. Equipment failure, temperature drift, a door left open, or an environmental problem may also place stored products at risk.

The POAS-E provides greater visibility into these conditions by combining built-in power failure monitoring with support for multiple external sensors and online data logging.

Through the monitoring portal, authorized personnel can:

  • View current monitored conditions
  • Review historical sensor readings
  • Update notification contacts
  • Adjust alarm thresholds
  • Acknowledge active alarms
  • Monitor more than one piece of equipment
  • Manage an unlimited number of alert recipients

POAS-E Notification Options

Email alerts are included with the POAS-E and can be sent to an unlimited number of contacts.

Facilities that require additional notification methods can add a subscription for text-message and automated telephone-call alerts. Using more than one notification channel can help reach personnel according to the facility’s staffing model and emergency response procedures.

Alarm acknowledgment is available locally at the device or through the web portal.

Optional temperature probe:

Optional device for measuring and tracking temperature

Receive alert notifications for temperature fluctuations. This is to be used with the Power Outage Alert System. You can also purchase an optional temperature probe to allow the alarm to alert you if the refrigerator goes out of the temperature range.

Refrigerator and Freezer Temperature Monitoring

Optional temperature sensors can be connected to monitor conditions inside refrigerators, freezers, cold rooms, and other temperature-controlled environments.

Users can establish acceptable operating limits and receive an alert when a monitored temperature rises above or falls below the programmed range. Depending on the probe selected, the system can support applications ranging from standard pharmaceutical refrigerators to ultra-low-temperature freezers.

Recorded sensor readings are stored through the online platform, giving authorized users access to historical information that may support internal reviews, incident investigations, and temperature-management procedures.

Monitor Multiple Conditions From One System

The POAS-E supports up to 10 additional sensors, allowing a facility to monitor several pieces of equipment or different environmental conditions through one monitoring device.

Depending on the accessories selected, the system may be configured to monitor:

  • Medical refrigerator temperature
  • Laboratory freezer temperature
  • Ultra-low freezer conditions
  • Ambient room temperature
  • Humidity
  • Water leaks
  • Equipment alarm contacts
  • Other compatible environmental conditions

This flexibility makes the POAS-E suitable for facilities that need more than a single power outage notification.

How POAS-E Monitoring Works

1. Connect : The monitoring device communicates through the facility’s Ethernet network.

2. Monitor : The system continuously checks utility power and all connected sensors.

3. Detect : When a monitored condition moves outside its programmed limits, the system identifies the alarm condition.

4. Notify : Complimentary email alerts are sent to the designated contacts. Subscription plans can add text-message and telephone-call notifications.

5. Review : Authorized personnel can sign in to the web portal to assess current conditions, acknowledge the alarm, and review recorded sensor information.

Designed for Connected Healthcare and Laboratory Facilities

The POAS-E is a strong option for organizations with a reliable Ethernet network that want centralized monitoring and recorded data.

Typical applications include:

  • Hospitals and health systems
  • Pharmacies
  • Vaccine storage facilities
  • Clinical and research laboratories
  • Blood banks
  • Surgery centers
  • Medical practices
  • Pharmaceutical storage areas
  • University research facilities
  • Multi-equipment refrigeration rooms

Pair Monitoring With Emergency Battery Power

The POAS-E can be used independently or alongside a Medi-Products refrigerator or freezer battery backup system.

During an outage, the battery backup helps keep connected equipment operating. The POAS-E provides remote visibility by alerting personnel that utility power has failed and by monitoring conditions that may change during the event.

This combination helps facilities protect critical inventory while keeping designated personnel informed.
