What Are Three Types of Medi-Products Models?

One Solution in Three Unique Packages

Mediproducts Lineup

MediProducts’ backup power systems are packaged in three different configurations Standalone, Hardwired, and Mobile.

Though packaged differently, all models deliver backup power in the same manner. The batteries of the system charge with power from your facility. In the case of an outage the battery backup system will instantly take over, and the power stored in the batteries is delivered directly to your appliances.

Regardless of the option chosen, all three have the capability to provide reliable and instant backup power to the most important appliances in your healthcare facility.

Yet, each of the three has their own unique characteristics. This may make one better suited than another depending on your use case and the goals of your facility. The options however, create huge flexibility. This means battery backup power seamlessly integrates into any workspace, and ensure that regardless of your facility’s specialty, a solution is found.

Standalone Systems

Mediproducts Standalone Unit

Housed in a sleek, off-white metal cabinet, the weight of a Standalone System is fully supported by the two removable feet they stand on. When mounted, the wall only supports the system and bears almost no weight. Standalone systems provide the flexibility to mount anywhere in your facility. Though, they must be in the same room or an adjacent room as the appliance(s) powered.

Standalone Systems charge and operate by plugging into a standard wall outlet. The appliance(s) intended for backup power plug directly into the A/C outlets built into the standalone system. Four power outlets are included standard, though more can be added at request during time of sale.

Keep in mind, all systems are custom-built and sized for your specific needs. This means your battery backup system will not necessarily be able to power four appliances at once if not included in the calculations during the sales process.

When standing by, wall power flows through the backup unit to the target appliance.

During an outage, the backup power system will instantly and automatically engage. Then, power is drawn from the batteries and delivered to the appliances which are plugged into it. Once power is restored, the system will automatically switch your appliance(s) back to wall power and begin recharging itself.

The advantages of a Standalone System include:

  • Flexible and Easy installation
  • Vertical, Space-Saving Design
  • Plugs Directly Into a Standard Wall Outlet
  • No Need to Hire a Licensed Contractor or Electrician to Install

Its flexibility makes it perfect for almost any scenario—Standalone Systems are an especially perfect companion for medical cold storage appliances. Standalone Systems are also ideal for growth-oriented facilities who do not want a permanent installation.

Mobile Systems

Arriving ready to use upon delivery, Medi-Products’ Mobile Systems require no assembly or installation.

Mobile Systems operate in an identical manner to the Standalone System. They plug directly into a standard wall outlet to charge, and the appliance(s) you intend to power are plugged into the system’s A/C power outlets.

When standing by, wall power flows through the backup unit to the target appliance.

During an outage, the backup power system will instantly and automatically engage. Power is then drawn from the batteries and delivered to the appliances which are plugged into it. Once power is restored, the system will automatically switch your appliance(s) back to wall power and begin recharging itself.

Though it shares many traits with the Standalone System, Mobile System features include:

  • Arriving Pre-Assembled and Ready to Deploy
  • Stainless-steel cabinets
  • Functional Counter Space On It's Top
  • Individually Locking Casters
  • Eight Available A/C Power Outlets

Because of their unique dimension, sterile cabinetry, and ability to be moved, Mobile Systems are perfect for sterile, flexible environments such as operating rooms or clean laboratory rooms.

Hardwire Systems

Mediproducts Hardwire Unit

Hardwired Units utilize the same space saving-design as Standalone units, housed in sleek, off-white metal cabinets. Also, like Standalone Systems, a hardwired system has two removable feet which, when mounted, support the weight of the system.

Unlike the Standalone or Mobile systems, Hardwired units integrate into your facility’s electrical circuits, instead of plugging into an outlet. Also, instead of having appliances plug directly into the hardwired system, it provides direct power to the outlets where the appliances connect.

They otherwise operate in the same manner as our other systems. To charge, hardwire systems power themselves directly from the facility’s circuits, while still allowing power to flow directly to the outlets that appliances plug into. When an outage occurs, Hardwired systems automatically and instantly engage, sending power to those same outlets. This ensures the continued operation of your appliance(s).

Because they integrate into your facility’s wiring, you will need a licensed electrician to install a Hardwired System.

But Hardwired Systems do possess unique strengths such as:

  • Not needing to be in the same room as the appliance it is powering
  • The ability to power multiple appliances, in different rooms, simultaneously
  • Built-in circuit breakers allow it to act as a sub-panel
  • Dedicated Knockouts for easy-to-manage wiring.

Due to its more permanent nature and need for an electrician, Hardwire Systems are ideal for new construction projects, ongoing remodels, and facilities who own or have long-term leases on their properties.
